  1. 6. The author describes the stranger's unusual behavior but never explains it. The illustrations show the strange things that happen and depict scenes from unusual points of view.

  6. 3. I think the stranger feels something is terribly wrong because he had done all the other trees but he had he had not done all the other trees. Butwhen he had been hit by the car he lost his strangth to change all the other trees. Then he gains his stregth and changes the rest of the trees to red and orange.

  9. 4. I think the stranger is Winter. The first clue was the mercury was at the bottom of the thermometer because the stranger was cold. Then when they were having soup and he blew on the spoon the room was a draft. Then he etched on the window in frost see you next fall.

I think the stranger will keep the climate cold where I live because he is always cold. That is because the stranger is winter. He can contral the winter weather.

  13. 4. I think that the stranger is Winter. Three clues that help you is that the therometer is at the bottom, the rabbits went to him, and steam rose from the soup and he thought that was strange.

  14. 3.The stranger thinks the green leaves on the trees are terribly wrong because the leaves are suppose to be red, orange,or yellow getting ready to fall of the trees for the winter.

2.The Bailey's are a great family. Mr.Bailey is so kind to give the stranger clean clothes. Mrs.Bailey is so generous to invite the stranger to dinner. Last but not least there's Katy the sweet little daughter of Mr. and Mrs.Bailey. Katy is a role model for the stranger because the stranger lost his memory so that's why Katy is so sweet.

  16. [4] When i was listing to the story i didnt get it the first time but the second time i listed to it i got it. the stanger is wenter because when the doctor came to see what was wrong the mercury was stuck at the bottom because he was so cold. the rabbits where white because rabbits turn white in the winter and he was starring at the birds because they already went south.

  17. 1.There's a clue on every page to let you know that the stanger was winter. The mercury was stuck at the bottom of the thermometer, there was a cold draft of wind when he blew on the spoon,he did not sweat when he was working with farmer bailey.

  18. 4.I think the stranger represents winter because when he blows on the sou p theres an draft in the room.Plus when the doctor comes the mercury goes down .Then when he sees the green leaf he thinks something is terribly wrong.

  19. 4. I think the stranger is the changing of the seasons. In the story, the mercury got stuck at the bottom of the thermoeter, he blew on the leaf and it turned orange and red and on the window it said"see you next fall" and it reappears every year.
