Grandfather's Journey

1. KNOWLEDGE Why was Allen Say's grandfather so impressed by what he saw on his first trip to North America? Use details from the story.

  1. 3. Allen Say shared the story of his grandfather because he loved his grandfather and he wanted his readers to know how alike they are.

    5. Grandfather kept songbirds in North America because they reminded him of home. He kept songbirds in Japan by habit. He stopped keeping songbirds because he was sad and upset by the war. He no longer wanted to keep songbirds.

    4. If I saw North America the first time I would love the mountains,places,stores,and the diferent people mostly it's because where I was from it was totally different than North America.

    America because of the enormus scuptures,huge cities of factories,and tall buidings,and the towering moutain.

    2.The grand son and grand father get home sick when they are in Japan.They get home sick for California and when they are in California they
    are they are home sick for Japan.There differnce is that the Grandfather traveld all around the world and the Grand son did not.

  14. 2.The journey between Allen Say and his grandfather are similar because they both travled from Japan to California.The differences are that Allen Say got married in Japan and went back to California.

    5.Grandfather surrounded himself with songbirds to try and make him forget about Japan, but the songbirds did not work so that is why he had so many songbirds with him.

  17. 1.Journeys Allen Say and grandfather take are similar because they both feel the same way about california when they'er in japan and they'er different times. 2.If i was seeing North AMERICA for the frist time i would be impressed of their dress and the way they have tall building because in japan the dress different then americans and the building are short in japan.
